Our company is built exclusively around the industry we support.

We perform in-house heat-treating services and offer DCT (Deep Cryogenic Tempering). We test every blade for hardness before it is sent back to you!

NOTE:

We only air quench at our location. If you have a steel not mentioned on the form, please email us at texasknife@gmail.com to confirm we can service you. If we’re unable to heat treat your blade(s), we can recommend a heat treater for you.

What is Heat Treat?

Heat treating involves precisely heating and cooling the blade to change its microstructure, improving hardness, corrosion resistance, and other key properties.

What is Cryo?

In this process, the steel is frozen to a temperature below 300 degrees Fahrenheit and tempered. After the Cryogenic process there is a permanent change in the metal grain structure eliminating impurities (retained Austenite) and a complete refinement of the grain structure of the steel. Cryogenic tempering results in an improvement in wear resistance and toughness resulting in greater edge holding.

Heat Treatment Terms and Conditions

Please outline your blade(s) on the back of the form if you do not have an identifying logo or name so we can keep track of your blade(s).

Please send blades that are thicker than
at least 0.010'’
.
All blades must be clean of all tape, buffing residue, and anything else that will melt below 2500° F / 1375 ° C.

All blades must be received in our facility by Friday @ 3pm Central Time to be entered for heat treatment and/or cryo by the next Tuesday morning.

        Heat Treatment Disclaimers

We are not liable for the cost of blades lost/damaged in transit by shipping carriers.

We recommend insuring your blades through your selected carrier upon shipping to our facility.

We are not liable for damages to points of blade tips if not packaged correctly.
Please wrap your blades with paper and tape/ staple it shut.

We aim to ship all blades by the following Friday.
If any setbacks were to occur, we will call you.

If for any reason a blade is damaged during our processing, we will replace the equal amount of steel. We reserve the right to decline servicing to blades with any defectiveness in production that can cause heat treating or warping issues we could not correct.
